Hi Sarah. When you're using mail on the Mac with Gmail, it can sometimes take it a long time to move messages to trash. So if you've just deleted a bunch of messages, it's best not to close mail right away. Give it a few minutes. You can bring up the mail activity monitor by pressing command 0. If VO reads that window as empty scroll area, then mail isn't doing anything and it's safe to close. If it shows anything else, then you may want to wait. I've recently discovered one way to improve things a little bit. In mail, under account preferences for your Gmail account, turn off the automatic emptying of trash. This will give mail a lot less work to do, and Gmail will automatically remove trash older than one month anyway. HTH. Darcy
