Hi,

You can import from various formats as well as your video camera.  You can also 
record stuff using the built-in eye-site camera on your Mac if all you'd like 
to record is whatever it is picking up.  It's not very accessible although 
movie editing is not an activity that visually impaired/blind individuals are 
expected to be hugely involved in.  You can also read the help documentation 
under the Help menu as it is very useful.  I use it lots when assisting 
students in the classroom.
