I've been poking around iMovie for any screen capture abilities. if there is one, I haven't found it yet. otherwise, iMovie can import from just about any supported camera (including the iSight) without a hitch. QT has a greater number of codecs and options for exporting movies but will try to save in .mov with H.264 video and AAC audio. this is easily importable into iMovie where you can add effects, edit the clip and publish to youtube (or export as an m4v file and allow youtube to upload directly from their upload link). each has it own advantages that they bring to the table. I use both because one has a feature or 2 the other does not.
