You might like to check out MacJournal from http://marinersoftware.com. You get a free 15-day trial or something. Among other things, it lets you import and export to Wordpress. I have a whole journal which more or less mirrors my blog. I can write a new entry and upload it. I can even edit it and it will update the entry. It lets you do tags and categories too. I really like it, and it does make things easier. For site admin stuff though, you will have to deal with the admin panel and all that. It might seem daunting at first, but you'll get used to it once you learn your way around a little, and learn about the different components of a wordpress blog.
