Well, if I hooked up my apex to the Air, I'd be dealing with 2 separate devices. And when I am quickly needing to find an item in a list of 80 items so I can edit it on the fly during a live event like our convention, I need speed and absolute accuracy. With the apex, my fingers are all on one unit, jumping quickly from keyboard entry to braille display within a second or less. I take your point about connecting the apex to the air to use it as a braille display and may find that somewhat useful in editing when I have the luxury of time. And, can't say I blame you for not using your PackMate, smile!
My point is that if one can possibly find a way to have both, a good reliable notetaker such as BrailleNote Apex or BrailleSense and a wonderful small computer like the Air and the MacBook Pro both have their very separate and valuable place in competing and participating effectively in today's business environs. I have found the mb family of products to be much more accessible to me as a vi person then the blind note takers. I still also have my original qx 400 pac mate and let me tell you!. I cannot stand that damn note taker. So I mostly stopped using it and just used my windows base computer to read book share book or my victor reader stream or its sister companion the victor reader vibe to read rfbd books. I also own an romeo embosser so if I wanted something in a hard copy all I would have to do is to emboss it and it is at my finger tips etc... However, I can understand how a blind note taker such as the braille note, braille sense or the a pax note taker from human ware would be just right for either one of you during such occasions when it would be most needed. but why don't you try hooking it up to your mack book air to see if it would be much more easier to operate at different functions that you might have to attend. i hope this helps. sincerely, chenelle Sent from my iPhone -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "MacVisionaries" group.
