Aww you aught to get with the times and use the #OT flag.:)

Another list I'm on is topical but allows for prepending a #ot to the subject.  
Then, users can filter and either reject all the #oT posts which keeps them 
from be bothered by the content and folks interested can read them.  It's a 
pretty creative solution to the off topic problem.
