I wonder if the remote app is advanced enough to let you purchase content for the tv? What's the point in having an app that will let you control the tv when it doesn't have any content on it?
One solution could be to link an itunes library stored on a computer to the tv, purchase the program on the computer and then view it on the tv, but I'm just guessing here and I'm not even sure if apple will let you do this.
