If you want the fastest windows experience, boot camp is the way to go, since all of the processor and memory resources are devoted to windows when using it. VMware fusion currently is the only accessible virtualization package for the mac, if you give us more details, we might be able to figure out why it's so slow for you. From what I've heard, parallels is actually faster than fusion, but since it's not accessible, and the company is unwilling to correct this, we can't do much with it.
