Ah ha! I figured this out. So one thing that you might have to do in Fusion at least if you're running XP is to go to the add new hardware wizard in control panel and add your USB host controller. This will make the drives pop up quite nicely. Then you can deal with those obnoxious NTFS drives. Just putting it out there if anyone runs into the same problem.
