Thank you so much! that's exactly what I was looking for. In a way it *is like the iPad/Ipod touch/iphone. I believe on those, flicking the top reads the status bar, and flicking the bottom reads their docks. I did know how to flick between items on the desktop on my computer, but not how to manipulate menus and dock.
