Hello Liam, It sounds as though your time zone is set incorrectly in System Preferences.
Go to the Date and Time pane in System Preferences, and select the second tab, Time Zone. If you navigate right, you'll find a combo box in which you can enter your nearest city. I'm sure London would work just fine.
