Hello Carolyn, There are several ways of clicking on the Mac.
VO-Spacebar performs the default action; VO-Shift-Spacebar simulates a mouse click (it's important to make sure that the mouse cursor is on the item you wish to click, VO-F5 will tell you what's under the mouse); With mousekeys on, FN-i performs a mouse click; You can also press the trackpad which is the standard way of clicking the mouse on a laptop.
