Hi,  The problem is that you are using an antiquated version of numbers.  You 
need to upgrade to iwork 9.

Alternatively you can switch to open office.  This has served me extrordinarily 
well for keeping track of my clients and hours and expenses and so on.  So far, 
virtually all of my excel knowledge has transferred neetly over to open office. 
 The drawback to open office is that it crashes... a lot... all the time.  Be 
sure to save often, and insidentally, keep firing off those bug reports to the 
open office developers every time you get a crash.  Hopefully if we all do that 
they will eventually figure out why or die a horendous death of sheer 
irritation from all the bug reports.
