Hi Allison,
Generally, you'll activate bookmarks by selecting them from the
Bookmarks menu on the Safari menu bar. Navigate to the menu bar with
VO-M, press "B" to go to the Bookmarks menu, then arrow down. The
first few commands are for managing bookmarks (showing or hiding the
"Show All Bookmarks" page, adding bookmarks with the option of
assigning a name and/or placing them within specific folders or the
bookmarks bar, or just adding as a bookmark with the default page name
to the general bookmarks menu). The Bookmarks Bar is a specific
folder for frequently used bookmarks that is separate from the
Bookmarks menu. When you import bookmarks from another browser, they
show up in the Bookmarks menu in the order that you saved them, and
you can either arrow down to your selection or navigate to it by
typing the first few letters of the name you assigned it. If you
organize the bookmarks in your Bookmarks menu into folders, which you
could do from the "Show All Bookmarks" page by creating folders, and
then either copying or moving bookmarks into the folders, or if your
bookmarks are already in folders, navigate to the folder (with arrow
keys or by typing the first letters of the folder's name), then right
arrow to the submenu of the folder's contents.
So, to activate most of your imported bookmarks, use the Bookmarks
menu on your Safari menu bar, and select your bookmark from the menu.
If you want to put one of these pages on your Bookmarks Bar, so you
can access the first 9 entries in the Bookmarks Bar with Command-1,
Command-2, etc., go to the page and then use the Command-D shortcut to
add a bookmark. Type in the name you want to assign in the text field
of the dialog window, and press (VO-Space) the pop up button, then
arrow down (or up) to the entry you want (e.g., "Bookmarks Bar", or a
specific folder you created).
If you want to reorganize your bookmarks, do it from the "Show All
Bookmarks" page (Command-Option-B to toggle between show and hide).
To activate one of the bookmarks from the table listing in this page,
just press space bar. You can search for bookmarks, and also through
the history of recently visited pages, for particular web pages from
this page.
HTH. Cheers,
Esther

Hi all,
I imported some bookmarks from firefox in to Safari. I am able to
view them in Safari's bookmarks menu, but I cannot activate them.
How do I do this? THe command 1 or 2 won't work. Any suggestions?
Allison
