Anne, (et al) Just a quick question. I've imported some documents recently that pages couldn't handle. It seems that where there are tables in a word doc, VO doesn't read them. Has anyone else encountered this? Apart from this anomaly though accessing word files is fine.

I find that Pages keeps almost all the formatting intact. TextEdit will also open doc files, so it all depends on what you want to do with them. For just reading, TextEdit is the simplest and cheapest solution since it comes with your Mac.
