I hope this is not off topic, I am new to this group. I will be
getting a mac book pro on fathers day, waiting for those specials. I
am planning to ge tthe base 2.6, 4GB mac book pro model. I am
currently running jaws version 11 but just love the idea of switching
to a company that has mainstream devices that are accesible to the
blind out of the box. Remember, accesability is a right, not a
luxury. I have a few questions. I would like to run vm fusion with
windows 7, so that I can run jaws, with excel. Do you think it will
run good on it iwth the base setup of the mac book pro 13 inch 2.6
Gigahertz? I currently run excel with jaws on a Inspriron 1420
laptop, with 3GV of ram, and since I love creating formulas on it, it
runs slow sometimes, even when I do not have any other application
running on the background. I do not know if the memory on the
Inspiron is DDR2 but I believe it is. It also a 2.0 duo core Intel.
2. I was thinking of getting a Solid State drive, but the price is
prohibitive, Imean you have to pay about 300 just to upgrade to a 125
GB solid state drive. Do you think that upgrading to a 7200 rpm will
improve excels performance? Do you think the new version of excel
2010, for the mac will be accesible with voice over? I sure hope so.
3. Does anyone have a windows 7 image so taht I can use it with
fusion? Since the laptop is so expensive I will not be able to buy
windows 7 until about august.
Persoanl note. I have send emails to bookshare, RFB&D, and the NLS
bard library to see if they would work with the Iphone and they told
me the following.
bookshare: They explained a workaround, have not read it, but still
this takes time out of my personal time, that I could be using for
other means.
RFB&D, they told me that they do not currently support Iphone but they
might int he future, this keeps me hopeful but skeptical at the same
time.
NLS, they told me that I had to contact apple, which I have not done,
so if apple lets them, then NLS books should work on the Iphone,
according to them, or the email, or the assumption I got from the
email.

Btw, my name is alfredo
