Hi Clarence: There are several OCR options. The one that has received the most positive remarks here is Abby Fine reader. However, I've not yet gotten that far as to explore it yet. I believe Abby offers a free trial version. I'm sure someone else can fill you better, but I know people are scanning successfully with the Mac.
