  Hi,

When I read Ceiling Cat, I imagine a huge beast dropping down from your
ceiling ripping out your throat. Kind of the image that the others project, as
well. At least to me. :)

This is my opinion, so take it as such, but Ceiling Cat just sounds so...out
of place, compared to the other names we've had thus far.

  Hi,

I guess it could be. I don't think we've had Lion yet.

I believe we've had Puma, Jaguar, Panther, Tiger, Leopard and SNow Leopard
now. That's for Mac OS X, anyway.

Ceiling Cat would be rather amusing, but I don't think that'll happen.

There was talk of Snow Leopard actually being called Lynx. However, Cononical
took it in "Lucid Lynx (Ubuntu 10.04) so I'd have to say...hmm...who thinks
Lion would sound good?

  Hi folks,

Is anyone wanting to take a shot at what Mac OS X 10.7 is going to be named?
I don't really understand Apple's obsession with felines in Mac OS X, but I
found this satirical picture on Flicker looking like an alpha build installer.
If you have a bit of sight, you might want to

  look at this

right now and tell me what you think. Ceiling Cat.

Also, web status on several sites are showing builds of Mac OS X 10.7 going
on a visit. Are they prowling? This could be a spoofing attempt, though I think
it's more likely that it is someone inside Apple as development is being put on
the back burner.

Maybe their obsession with feline names in Mac OS X is because of its
sleekness. Who knows? I totally vote for Ceiling Cat. MEOW!

We might hear more about Mac OS X 10.7 at the World-Wide Developers
COnference stretching from June 7 to June 11. I would go myself, but I'm too
busy. I also think it might be an iPhone OS centric event, anyway, with just a
few hints of Mac OS X 10.7.

  Thoughts?

  Nic
