Previously I had an airport time capsule connected to my Motorola surfboard
modem and the data drive in the time capsule was being used by Time Machine for
back up. Now, this drive is obsolete after upgrading to Tahoe. I have upgraded
the modem to an Xfinity gateway modem/router. This gateway has ethernet ports
and I am wondering can I connect a hard drive to the Xfinity gateway and assign
it as the Time Machine data drive? There There are no USB or USC ports on the
Xfinity Gateway and since the airport time capsule was connected to my old
modem via ethernet cable I assumed that there are other drives that could be
connected to the rotor in this way as well. Can you give me any recommendations
as to the configuration that would work here?? Are there disc drives that I can
connect via ethernet to the Xfinity gateway? Thanks for any help
