I just sent this bug to apple, but it occurred to me to ask if anyone on this list experiences the same.
I frequently mute and unmute speech using "toggle mute speech" (leaving VO on but muting speech, as opposed to just hitting ctrl to stop speech). I kept noticing that when I did this it would temporarily hang my computer --- unable to change apps or do anything for 5 or so seconds. not the end of the world, but annoying since I frequently turn VO off and on. Today it occurred to me that this might only be happening when I hit the mute toggle when VO was actively speaking --- if I toggled speech off when VO was silent, it worked as expected. So a) hopefully this will help someone out there if you're also finding this annoying behavior and b) curious if anyone else noticed this!
