Some users may need more tools than others. Not everyone will be as
proficient when it comes to out technology. Just my .02 cents worth.

My suggestion? No software at all! I know, it's radical, but it might just work!
Seriously. The time you spend messing about with this sort of software will more than overshadow
the tiny gains you make in the long run. I am by no means suggesting that the macOS and Mac app
ecosystem is perfect but, really, the times you will actually need to intervene to deal with
problems caused by genuine and trusted software will be miniscule. And macOS already includes
background cleanup subsystems and user-facing tools (the "Storage" settings borrowed from
iOS) to broadly examine the state of your disks and remove the causes of disk space overuse. It's
fine, really. The myth of the "dirty" Mac, if it ever had legitimacy, is now largely
behind us.
That having been said, and to anticipate the "lively" discussion that may follow, please
be assured that I'm not here to tell you what to do with your computer. Do whatever gives you the
greatest joy. But, as an "advanced" user of macOS, I really don't think it's worth it.
Opinions are my own, etc.
