This turned out to be Eloquence-specific and not the whole solution. It’s in VO Utility, Speech, customise voices. Interact with a voice, and press the Info button. That opens a sheet to customise the voice. Eloquence has the specific option of turning on/off abbreviation processing.
The whole solution turned out to be entries that I’d manually added for MB, GB, etc. Yes, really. It’s 2025 and we still need these hacks. I do not recall Alex being quite so broken.
