Hi Cliff. I didn’t get a chance to read your emails about John Panarese in December last year. I read one about the current status of the Mac for the Blind website earlier this morning, and wondered what happened to John. I just read through your emails about him passing away from a severe cancer and that he had a remarkable inspiring life!! I am very sorry to hear that he passed away on December 12. 😞😔 I met John once at an NFB convention briefly in 2005. Then I got to listen to a lot of his training materials when I rented a Mac computer in 2013, to try it out and learned Mac OS X and Voiceover. I learned so much from the Mac For The Blind tutorials! John was a great trainer and I really enjoyed the online tutorials!!! Sending my condolences and comfort to his family. John Panarese will be missed. He was fantastic. One of the first tutorials I listened to when I was getting ready to purchase my first Mac in 2013 was from John. On 13 Dec 2024, at 1:37 am, Kliph <kl...@sturitup.com> wrote:
My friends, It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we share the news that John Panarese of Mac For the Blind has passed away. For so many of us, John was more than just a trainer or mentor—he was a source of inspiration, a steadfast friend, and a beacon of passion and dedication. To me he was a great friend, my brother from another mother, my mentor, someone i could talk to for advice, to give me constructive criticism, and so much more. I was privileged to know him, there will not be another like him!
To honor John’s life and legacy, we will be gathering for a special evening of remembrance this Thursday, December 12, 2024, at 8 PM Eastern Time on Zoom. Anyone is welcome to attend, and no registration is required. What to Expect: This evening will be a chance for all of us to celebrate John’s incredible contributions to the community and the profound impact he had on our lives. We will share stories, express our gratitude, and reflect on the ways John touched our hearts with his teachings, support, and friendship. For those who believe, it will also be an opportunity to offer prayers of gratitude and reflect on the hope and comfort of faith during this time.
Though this is a time of sadness, it is also a time to celebrate a life well-lived—a life devoted to making the world brighter and better for so many. Details to Join: Topic: A Farewell to John Panarese When: Thursday, 12/12/2024, at 8 PM Eastern Time
We hope you can join us as we say goodbye to this remarkable man and honor the legacy he leaves behind.
God bless you all.
