Interesting is right. I’ve never known disabling smart addresses to do 
anything—certainly not show me email addresses, as promised.

But there’s a convenient way to get the address. Interact with the “Header” 
area, and use VO-Shift-Left and VO-Shift-Right to precisely target the embedded 
sender’s name which will appear as a single object. Press VO-Space, and you get 
a nice menu showing you the address, and an option to copy it to the 
pasteboard. This always works.
