In iOS 18.2, Apple introduced a new feature in the Mail app called Categories.
This feature separates mail into several categories such as Primary,
Transactions, Updates, and more.
To disable this feature, and return your Mail app to how it displayed mail
before the 18.2 update, do the following:

1. Open your iOS Mail app to your Inbox, or any other mailbox folder, and
locate the More button in the upper right corner of the screen.
2. Do a 1-finger double tap on the More button, and select List from the
context menu, and again do a 1-finger double tap to select this option.

Your mail should now be returned to the list mode you are familiar with.

HTH.
