The operating system updates typically run for at least seven years these days,
and some older operating system releases receive security fixes for a while
thereafter.
I bought a 14-inch MacBook Pro with the M1 Pro back in 2021. If Apple continues
to support the operating system as it has done in the past, I wouldn't expect
to consider an upgrade until at least 2028.
Of course, you may well have other reasons for wanting a new desktop machine.
I'm not suggesting otherwise.

Subject: Mac Mini with an M4 chip

Hello everyone,

I think that I would like to try the Mac Mini M4 in a basic configuration.

I have a Macbook Pro with an M1 Pro chip. I got it 2 years ago.
I had this idea because of the macOS support. I do not know how long my Macbook
Pro will be supported. And I want to try this Mac Mini instead of a desktop
(iMac).

Do any of you have a Mac Mini with M4? What configuration do you have?

Thanks.

Best regards

Tibor
