Am I mistaken or does the new VoiceOver hav to get to that list. Now
that I have an M3 Macintosh instead of an intel based machine, I can’t get
this little trick to work. It is also of course convenient since I can e
independent HotSpots for each application?set HS 1 to Mailboxes, HS2 to
messages and HS 3 to current conversation in mail and quickly move to the
major areas.
I did however used to set hot spots for things like slack conversations, and
know that no matter where I was in the Mac environment I could get back to the
conversation with one simple click.
If there is no global hotspots any more, what is the difference between a
hotspot and a window spot?

In Mohave and earlier I could set Hot Spot 5 on the list of conversations in
Messages and then hit VO-5 from any application
