Hi!
First post.
As of Sequoia 15.1 RC with ios 18.1rc as well as 15.2 dev beta 1, iphone
miroring is cluncky and unpleasant tu use with VO at best. For example,
inwhatsapp alone, messages are spoken after the contact, there are focus
issues/losses every 2 minutes, text navigation is horrible you have to use
the rotor not the arrow keys, you can use vo end and home but not vo up and
down when in texts... And worst than everything it's not reliable or
consistent. For example home I was able to follow along on instagram dm for
a college stuff, but it bugged when I was in class (instagram dm are only
accessible with sr on iphone, not windows or mac web version). It's
horrible and the only reason why it's not as worst than snr is that
browsing is more regularely done and important than miroring screen of
iphone. But still it shows how apple care little about mac accessibility
unless they are forces to (snr). We should be polite but fermly tell apple
to actually do their job well on this one as it's the most highlited
feature aside AI on sequoia and blidn users hardly start getting
preliminary beta testing on it, almost 2 months after the first developer
beta where IM was roled out.
We also should tell that apple current approach with vo is completely
wrong, insteas of creating api to pass out the information from iphone ui
to mac ui and push this info through accessibility api to vo on mac, apple
for blind users should just allow passthrough of keyboard to iphone, and vo
iphone sound routed to mac. This is what 99% would want anyways as iphone
voiceover is more stable in general.
