Hi Donna,
Assuming that the original router has been disconnected and the original 
network is no longer active, the issue likely has to do with the DHCP using a 
different IP address range for the local network on your new modem/router 
combo. Some devices will automatically switch, however it sounds like there are 
quite a few on your network that won’t until they are power cycled. The last 
time I rearranged my local network to use a different IP range, rather than 
going around the house and power cycling everything one at a time, I managed to 
save some time by doing this from my circuit breaker panel.
