Maybe this is a dumb question. I am copying folders and files onto a portable
drive on my Mac. I have already copied some folders there. I want to copy
more folders there but I don’t want to copy the new folders into the already
existing ones, nor do I want to close the drive in the finder and then go back
into it. And I still want to use column view. How do I do this using column
view? In other words, to use Windows terminology, how do I deselect the
folders that are already there so that I can put the new ones at the same level
inside of them? Can I not do this at all in column view? Do I have to use
list view for this?

Thanks for any insight into this minor but frustrating issue.
