Hello,
I am running IOS 17.5 on my iPhone se 2020. I have stolen device protection set
I have stolen device protection set on with delay always set on. Alas my
fingerprint is not recognised by Touch ID and so I need to add another
fingerprint. Whenever I try to do this the iPhone asks me to authenticate with
Touch id which does not work. I have tried waiting for over 1 hour and trying
again but that does not work. I cannot find any way to fix the problem by
entering my passcode to authenticate.
Can anyone explain how the delay works? What causes the delay clock to start,
what should I do while the 1 hour delay clock is running, how do I know when
the delay is up, and then what do I do to add the new fingerprint in a way
which does not require Touch ID to authenticate.
Many thanks for any ideas.
Best … Paul Hopewell
