Paul, Aren’t you supposed first to disable that protection feature before adding a fingerprint? And of course that protection needs to be turned off when you are at your home location.

Touch ID no longer works so I need to reset it by adding a new fingerprint. I have stolen device protection set on which means that I have to do Touch ID to let me add a fingerprint! This iPhone SE is my backup phone and has been in a desk drawer at home for ages and has not left home for weeks. I have just left it switched on for an hour or so in the hope that it would then let me add the new fingerprint, but no luck. Any ideas on how to solve this problem?
