Hello Paul, One tip I can give you for the one finger swipe up is to start your swipe right from the bottom edge of your phone's screen. you should hear what I describe as a popping sound. The first one will take you to your home screen, if you keep swiping up the second pop will get you to your app switcher. You should also feel haptics at the same time you hear the pops. Once you're in the app switcher it will work just as it did with your SE.
