It could very well have changed, but I know at least a year ago, that part of Word for Mac was not accessible to VoiceOver. However, I was told by a Microsoft accessibility person that it would be “fixed”. I don’t know if it’s changed as I have not had to mess with collaboration with Word for Mac.
