Hi! I did move from a MacBook AIR to just a Mac mini with a wireless keyboard.
It obviously won’t let you use it on the GO, so if this is important for you then you would need to likely stick with a laptop (MacBook Air or pro). If you do not move around it will work just fine with a wireless keyboard. I use the MX Keys personally. Hope this helps.
