Hello All, I have been an Amazon Music subscriber for about 2 years, now. When a song is playing on any Alexa enabled device, I can say, "Alexa, I like this." Alexa will reply with something like, "OK, Mark, got it."
Later, when I open the Amazon Music app on any device, there is an automatically generated play list called something like "Mark's Favorites." I have come to use this feature a great deal and, apparently, have begun taking it for granted. Now, as part of my Apple One subscription, I have started using my Apple Music app on both my iPhone and iPad. For the past few days, when various songs were playing, I said, "Siri, I like this." Just like Alexa, Siri responds with, "got it." Upon hearing this, I foolishly assumed that, like Alexa, some kind of playlist or station would be populated with a list of the songs I specifically liked, during playback. Wrong, wrong, wrong!!!! Wow! After conducting some extremely unsatisfying searches on the net, from what I can tell, no automatically generated playlist is created by Siri. Then, I read that one can tell Siri to add the currently playing song to a specific playlist. Then, I read that one can create smart playlists that, in effect, mimic the functionality of Alexa. Imagine my surprise when I discovered that one cannot create smart playlists via the Apple Music app on iPhone or iPad? Question: is this true??? If so, it is crazy!!! So, I am posting this in hopes that someone will correct the info I have obtained or confirming it. And no, I do not want to create a shortcut in order to create / manipulate playlists. All replies greatly appreciated. Mark -- The following information is important for all members of the Mac Visionaries list.
