I have not heard the HomePod in person, but do own a couple of HomePod minis.
I also have 2 of the Sonos 1 speakers. With Airplay 2 it is quite nice to get the minis and Sonos talking with each other. Start music in the kitchen and then tell SIRI to Play it in the Living Room.
