Hi,
I am glad someone else brought this up as I have 2 macs. One is a mac
mini from 2018 and is an intel machine with 16 GB of ram and a mac book
air m1 which I just got about a month ago and both have the instaololer
in progress box that comes up a click of either the trackpad or
vo+shift+sppace brings up the login screen. I see this as an annoience,
but perhaps an email yto accessibil...@apple.com is in order?

I've never encountered this issue, so the interesting question is why you're
experiencing it and I'm not.
I've had File Vault enabled for a while, but all was fine even before that.
When my machine is booted, focus goes straight to the password prompt.
