Does VLC remembers where I left reading last time if the app is closed and reopen?

I use vlc for everything on my Mac. here’s the way I would do this. unzip the file. if the tracks are already numbered they’ll be in order. then open vlc and press command-O. then navigate to the folder you want to hear. I can’t remember where vlc lands the first time you do this.
