Jessica,
I'm replying to you on list so someone else can assist with how to deal with NVDA. Good luck!

Ok, I’m sure everyone is probably tired of hearing about this, but wanted to
give a heads-up. I managed to finally find a direct link to download the
64-bit ISO file from Microsoft, and think I managed to locate the right file
regarding VMware Fusion, considering at the moment, I’m just wanting to run
everything in trial mode just to see how it does. I also have downloaded NVDA
and just have everything just sitting in my downloads folder.
So at this point, my question is, after I start the installation process and
I eventually get to the point where there’s no longer speech, how do I go about
installing NVDA, or would I be better off launching team viewer, and having an
Aira agent help me do the remainder?

-Jessica,
Maybe I should first suggest another option. I took a quick look at Windows
11 on Amazon. One option is to buy for $139 and download then you can out it on
a thumb drive though I don't know how big it is. Or, buy a PC. I saw an HP
model for $189. If you want to look into getting a PC, there are other brands
too like Dell.

For NVDA here is the web site. It will give you the download button with the "no
donation" button already selected.

https://www.nvaccess.org/download/

   Here is the VMware site.

https://my.vmware.com/web/vmware/downloads/info/slug/desktop_end_user_computing/vmware_fusion/13_0

VMware Fusion Player 13 is the latest. If you choose to go this route and
not a PC, you can install this using Voiceover. You can run it and look at its
settings etc. Once you get a Windows ISO (image file) you can install it into
Fusion.

You might want some sihted help after this to put the NVDA file on the
Windows desktop. When you clock it, it will come up talking.

   I hope this helps!

I will be using NVDA, due to the fact that I unfortunately can’t afford a
license for Jaws, and using it in 40-minute mode too attempt to do this
training material isn’t going to work.
Can you please send me a direct link to download these ISO files? I’ve
attempted to do several searches to obtain them, and found a site that I
thought led to where two find them along with instructions, but is taking me in
circles when it comes to downloading then.
The site I ended up at was something called Minitool.com <http://Minitool.com>,
that supposedly redirects you to where to download them, but just seems to take me to
more news articles.

Jessica,
A quick note. If you want to use NVDA which is free, give me some time to
try something. In the meantime, ALL the VMware setup can be done with
Voiceover. So if you go ahead and get a Windows ISO, you're on your way.

Ok, that’s what I was afraid of, and to be honest, I think I need whoever is
willing to please contact me off list. I have absolutely no idea how to even
get this started, have never done this before, so I’m going to need some
guidance, whether we do a team viewer session, back and forth e-mail’s, or
exchange numbers and stay on the phone as long as one of us is able; I’m open
to any of these.

VMWare is definitely the superior product. However, Voiceover won’t do anything
once you are inside the virtual session. You would have to install NVDA or JAWS
inside the VMWare session in order to make windows fully accessible. Btw, I
don’t trust narrator to be more than basic system accessibility only, hence my
suggestions for superior screen readers.

I’m still looking into installing Windows on my Mac, in order to attempt to finish my training
materials throughdhs.org <http://dhs.org/><http://dhs.org/ <http://dhs.org/>>,
which has come to a halt,, due to the fact that in order to use the testing tools they provide,
they’re only available for the Windows platform. My supervisor told me about something called
Vertualbox, which is free to install Windows on, as opposed to VMware Fusion, but he had no idea
if it was usable with Voiceover. Can anyone with experience with either/or please give me some
tips on how to run them?
I don’t currently own a copy of Windows, so will have to find out how to
obtain everything/get things up and running.
