Donna,

It exclusively has to do with headphone audio volume, so no matter how you set
the speaker volume, that doesn’t make any difference. Assuming you’re on iOS
16, Go to Settings > Sounds and Haptics, and double-tap the Headphone Safety
button. iPhone has a way to tell if you’ve had headphone audio too loud, that’s
why you get any warnings. You can, in fact, change iPhone’s way of thinking, I
remember doing it once a long time ago but don’t remember exactly. I think it’s
somewhere in the Health app. Maybe someone can chime in to take it the rest of
the way.

Thanks,

Pete De Vasto

Donna,

Maybe check under the health app or its settings.

So I read something that suggests that it has to do with the total time you are
listening to audio input, and that once you reach a certain amount of time, the
volume high notification appears. I work from home, so I am listening to music
pretty much constantly, but almost never through headphones. Also, the music
is usually in the background, so my volume is generally set to about 25%,
sometimes less if I’m on the phone. And the only setting I found was for
headphone safety, which I had already set to off. It makes absolutely no sense
to me, and I’d really love to make it go away.

Cheers,

Donna

It’s something to do with headphone safety. Not sure right now where to find
it. Perhaps under settings, sounds and haptics?

I got that the first time I pared my headphones to my phone.

So I went into settings, sounds and haptics and checked the settings.

Hi all,

So I get that notification even when my speaker volume is set at 20%, and the
volume isn’t high by anyone’s standards. Does anyone know why this happens?
Cheers,
Donna
