It is presenting the messages in a thread. Simply Right arrow to expand the thread and go down through the message list. There are other ways, but I find that the easiest. You can delete a message from within the thread or left arrow and hit your delete key to remove the entire thread. If you have used Mail on the iPhone it works the same way. You can also turn off threading. Go to preferences/Settings in Mail with Command Comma, VO left to the Toolbar, Interact, go to View, Select, un-interact and go to the scroll area, and uncheck the box that says show related messages.
