One example under Monterey is in System prefs, Startup. Voiceover
will read two' click the lock buttons but both either of them will do
the job. The verbiage is not new to Monterey though.

I am not sure verbosity is the issue. The same extra verbiage occurs on the
Mac as well. I'm sure Apple could do it but they'd have to clean up the text
elements and combine what we perceive as redundant. I've sent feedback in years
past and see no change.

Lol Thanks. I was thinking about doing the exact same thing. :)
I guess it surprised me because there are so many options for configuring
verbosity on the phone, iPad and Mac. I know VO on Apple TV is a little more
limited, but still you’d think they’d give us some options for controlling how
much VO should speak.

Hi Donna and All,
Crazy is right! :) I’ll go you one better though; I focus on the Play button
for whatever media I am about to play and then turn VO off before I click it.
This can be a little persnickety but it is super clean. I too, cannot stand all
of the extra chattiness and really wish whomever is drafting the UX for the VO
experience at Apple, would take a bit more time to think these sorts of things
through.
Just my .02. :) -Best of luck!
Cheers!

Hi Donna.
E. T. is correct.
When I start media playback and VO will not stop talking, I triple press the
Home button on the Apple TV remote to immediately turn VO off; then, after a
few seconds or minute, I triple press the Home button to turn it back on.

Wow! That’s a really schlocky solution.

Yes, The Mac suffers from the same verbosity but obviously the solution for me
there is to simply move past the noise. On the Apple TV turning VO off is
easier.

Hi all,
Every time I start a movie or TV show on my Apple TV, VO speaks all kinds of
garbage I could do without. Things like: “Subtitles” “Start Picture in
Picture”. A current time stamp as well as time remaining. Often she does this
over the start of what we’re trying to watch. How do I get rid of all of that?
Thanks,
Donna
