Good afternoon everyone on here. Please can anyone on here help.
This query isn't for me, but for my friend Chris Graham in Australia. He isn't a member of this group, so this is why I'm asking on his behalf. On his Mac book M1, when he is using it if he leaves it alone for not very long at all the screen goes black as if it has gone to sleep. All VoiceOver says is application . To be clear, this is not a screen saver, as I managed to find the tick box for this for him, he has unticked this and it is still doing it. I know what VoiceOver says as he has got What;sApp on the Mac and it does it during his messages. To come out of this state, he has got to press a key on the keyboard. He has done all sorts of Google searches and YouTube searches, all he can find on YouTube is something about Energy saver preferences. Well both me and Chris have looked everywhere in System preferences, there is no energy saver button what so ever! I managed to find something in the battery part, turn display off after. But I tried to set this to never, when I close the preferences window, it resets to 60%. We believe this is what needs to be changed, this slider needs to be set to zero. So please if anyone knows how to turn this annoying state off, can you let me know as we are both completely out of ideas! Also, before I sign off he has bought a clipboard manager called Copy clip two. He wants to turn on a feature called Direct paste. Well where are the app preferences located? This is not the app store preferences, I am talking about the app specific preferences where you can control what apps can and can't do. Many thanks, I look forward to any responses!
