Hi Donna,
Are you using a mic on your headphones, or something built into your mac?
Glad to know it is doable, if you think about it though, that is what you are told when someone gives you computer instructions.
If you click on this application etc.
cheers back,
Karen

Hi Karen,

It is very doable. I’ve been doing it all afternoon. It takes some getting used
to, because the way you speak commands Hass to echo the actions that you would
take using a mouse or a keyboard. So for example, if you’re in the mail app,
instead of saying something natural like new message, or create new message,
you say click new message. Personally, I’d prefer a system where you can use
more natural speech. Maybe that will happen someday.
Cheers,
Donna

Hi Donna,
While I cannot speak to your personal setup, I am told, both in documentation,
and by apple staff that one can use voiceover commands via the voice control
method.
it is my own goal, using voice control for some tasks, and voiceover for
others. I have no desire to use Siri for this.
it is supposed to be doable, so I look forward to what we discover together.

Hi all,

I’ve always been kind of intrigued by the possibility of doing this, so I
wondered if anyone else is using voice commands to control their Mac. If yes,
are you using voice control, or are you using Siri? What are people’s thoughts
about the two options? Right now, Siri on the Mac seems sort of limited. For
example, I don’t seem to be able to tell her to send an email that I have just
finished composing. I played around a little bit with voice control, but I'm
not sure I need anything that literal or that robust. If I were to use voice
control, I don't think I would want it on all the time. I have been able
intermittently to turn it off, but I have not found a way to turn it back on,
without going back into System Prefs. How does one do that? Also, in Mail, I
don’t seem to be able to move reliably between message fields. Is this
possible?

I would love to hear about peoples experiences with both the voice control and
the Siri option.
TIA,
Donna
