I bought a pair of AirPods max today just to try them out. Got 14 days to
return if they don’t work out. Anyway, kind of pricey but they look really good
and the audio quality is very high. Like all headphones, they’re a little
uncomfortable to wear long term, but maybe that’s just me, I don’t like wearing
headphones of any kind. As they go these are about as comfortable as they can
get. The one feature I really like is the ability to convert them to a wired
headset so they can be used with older equipment that has 3.5 mm output jacks.
Especial cable lightning to 3.5 mm by directional audio cable makes it
possible. I tried to use a Bluetooth transmitter to get around the problem of
wired versus wireless, but the latency issue was a dealbreaker. This audio
cable should really make the difference. I’m using them to hear myself playing
a musical instrument, so the latency issue is critical. As I said though I’m
expecting that the direct wired headset into the amplifier will overcomes the
issue. It’s hard to justify the price but if this works out I’ll probably keep
them. I’ll get back with any updates if I find anything new about these. As it
stands they’re looking pretty good.
