In system preferences under battery if it’s a laptop and energy savor if it’s 
a desktop, you can alter the amount of time it takes for the system to go to 
sleep. If it’s a laptop, remember that there will be both a battery and power 
adaptor pane that you will have to adjust if you use the machine in both 
situations. You can change the timeout time all the way to 3 hours or even 
Never, though I don’t recommend you turn it entirely off.
