Hello Tim, Try as I may, I cannot get VO to read the notification unless I single-finger double-tap the notification icon which launches an app.
Which TTS engine are you using on the watch? Which Apple watch are you using? I am running Apple watch series 7. After reading your reply, I enabled notification summary on the watch but the result was the same as when I had this feature disabled. Again, when I wake up the display, I can see the notification icon and some meta data but I cannot get VO to read anything. No matter in which direction I single-finger swipe, all I get is the bonk sound, indicating that there is nothing to read. If it is not too much trouble, can you tell me what your settings are in the notification area of the watch? This would be the area directly under settings. HTH. Note that if you’re paying close enough attention, the haptic feedback is different depending on the notification. Messages are two haptic blips fairly close together. Calendar notifications are two haptic blips, but they are softer and further apart. Most other notifications are a longer single vibration such as a notification from Door Dash etc. HTH. Both my phone and watch have their respective displays off; this is to say that I am not interacting with either of them. 2. I receive a text message. (Keep in mind that I do not know, at this point, that it is a text message but I receive hap tic feedback on my watch indicating that I have some kind of notification.) 3. I raise my witch and tap the surface of the watch which immediately wakes up the display. At this point, I can see some kind of an icon on the watch display but, as I move my finger across the display (or even single-finger tap the display), VoiceOver says absolutely nothing. What am I missing, here? What setting do I need to change in order to have VO read either the notification, itself, or at least, the type of notification I just received? Just so you know, if I single-finger, double-tap the display with the notification icon, the notification opens into its related app. All replies, greatly appreciated.
