It’s also a major security improvement compared with passwords alone. I would recommend setting up two-factor authentication for every account that supports it. Note the new feature in the password settings of Mac OS Monterey that allows the Mac to generate the codes used for two-factor authentication by various Web sites. It supports time-based one-time passwords, which are commonly used as the second authentication factor.
