How do you change the default app for playing files? This option was removed a while back, when the app was still called iTunes. To avoid adding played items to my library, I use QuickTime player, which is a stock app, included on your Mac. Additionally, I use Get Info to change the default application for most commonly played music file-types to QuickTime Player, to help avoid accidentally adding items to my Music library unintentionally. - Brad - On Nov 2, 2021, at 16:42, 'Kristeen Hughes' via MacVisionaries <macvisionaries@googlegroups.com<mailto:macvisionaries@googlegroups.com>> wrote: Is there a way to play something without adding it to the music library, short of changing the setting so that nothing is added?
